1 West Opening Night

Dear cadets, parents, and friends of 1 West,

We are looking forward to welcoming cadets back for in-person activities for the first time since March 2020!

This Wednesday, September 8th we will have enrollments and information sessions for new cadets, and uniform exchanges for returning cadets. Anyone entering the RMR must complete the COVID Self-assessment questionnaire prior to entering. Please complete the questionnaire online before arriving, if at all possible, to allow us to admit you as efficiently as possible.

Level 1-2 cadets and new recruits can arrive at 18:30, and level 3+ cadets can arrive at 19:30. Due to COVID restrictions, there will not be closing parades for the time being, so it is likely that the cadets who arrive at 18:30 will be finished by approx. 20:00. Cadets should wear sports gear as we will have sports activities throughout the night between admin sessions and uniform exchanges. Returning cadets who have a uniform to exchange should bring their old uniform back in a plastic bag to make the exchange as efficient as possible.

RMR Charity Run

On September 18th our cadets are encouraged to participate in the RMR Charity Run. If you have already signed up for the run, great! CI Amirola and CI Passera-Garcia will be on hand this Wednesday to talk about training runs and other logistics. If you haven’t signed up for the run but are interested, email us at 1westmontreal@gmail.com or talk to our sports CIs this Wednesday. Exact details about the run event are still being finalized, but even if you are unable to participate on the 18th, you can still join the team, and then do the run on your own sometime this month and track it using the Run Keeper App. If you are unable to do the run, you can still help get donations for the 1 West running team – all of the funds we raise will support our squadron activities this year. Spread the word and help us make this fundraiser as successful as possible.
