Additional Summer Activities

There are two new summer activities available to our cadets. To register for either activity email CI Caso at Chloe.Caso@cadets.gc.ca by June 14 at midnight. Include which activity, date, and location you want to be registered for. Spots fill up quickly so do it ASAP! Both activities are on the weekend so cadets can do them in addition to the VCTC and CAP.

Activity 1: Introduction to Aircraft Maintenance

This activity is aimed at cadets level 3-5 that are a maximum of 1 hour away from the Air Ops hangar in Saint-Jean. The activity introduces them to the following concepts:

• Aircraft operation

• Aircraft inspections

• Routine maintenance

• Riveting

• Interlining

• Tool handling

• Superdog run-up

Here are the details:

• Duration: one day (8AM - 4PM), Saturday 10, 17 or 24 July

• Groups of 14 cadets per day

• Location: Hangar 3 (Cadets Air Ops Hangar), 35 chemin de l’aéroport, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu

• Cadets must provide their own transportation to and from the site.

• You must be in levels 3-5 to register.

Activity 1: Marksmanship clinics
The marksmanship clinics will allow cadets to develop their marksmanship skills. At some sites, it will be possible for cadets to shoot on SIUS electronic targets. Join us to develop your skills and, who knows, get a marksmanship qualification! This activity is open to all cadets from all levels.

Here are the details:

• Location #1: Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, the weekend of July 31 and August 1. Half-day on Saturday and half day on Sunday.

• Location #2: Drummondville, QC, the weekend of August 7-8. Half-day on Saturday and half day on Sunday.

• Cadets must provide their own transportation.

Summer 2021 Cadet Activity Program

The Cadet Activities Program is a week-long, in-person, locally-based day camp for cadets this summer. It will be Monday-Friday from 0800-1600. It will be located in an accessible location in downtown Montreal or Westmount, possibly at the RMR where we normally train. This is a great opportunity to do fun, in-person activities, learn new skills that will help you advance in your cadet career, and meet new friends. Cadets will need to provide their own snacks and lunch. COVID guidelines will be strictly followed.

Possible activities include:

• Sports activities

• Marksmanship activities

• Military drill training

• Geocaching

• Element specific day

• Teamwork

• And much more!

To register, please fill out the form below. It will take about 5 minutes to complete. Everyone of all ages and levels is encouraged to sign up. We have a lot of spots so hopefully everyone who wants to participate will be able to.

After June 10, you will receive an email from CI Caso confirming your CAP registration and which week you have been registered for.

Our weekly training will recommence in September.
