Uniform Exchange

Dear parents and cadets,

We hope you've been enjoying your summer so far. Although we haven't been able to meet in person due to COVID-19, the squadron has managed to push through the challenges brought on by the pandemic and continue to shine.

Many of you have outgrown your uniforms and been promoted during our virtual training. Consequently, 1 West is replacing any used uniforms that have grown too small. In addition, we will be issuing uniforms to new cadets that have joined while we were online.

For returning cadets, the Google Form below will allow you to indicate which parts of your uniform need to be replaced. Additionally, you’ll be able to assign yourself a date to come to the RMR and return your old uniform. After dropping off your uniform, you shall be measured for your new uniform, which you will receive later in the summer. Please ensure that the uniform you are returning is washed and that the badges have been removed.

For new cadets who have not been issued a uniform, we ask you to take your own measurements and fill in the Google Form below. Said form will include instructions and visuals to guide you through the measuring process. Your response will not be recorded on this form if you are a returning cadet. Cadets who complete this form will be mandated to pick up their new uniforms later in the summer, at a given date. If the uniform we issue you does not fit, it can only be exchanged at the start of the next cadet session (September 2021).

1 West Fundraising Run

Dear cadets, staff, parents, and friends of 1 West,

We finally have our fundraising platform up and running for the RMR Fundraising Challenge! Thank you to the RMR Foundation for providing the fundraising platform for our squadron and the other RMR affiliated cadet units.

For all of our cadets and staff who have signed up for the RMR Army Run Team, please join our 1 West Montreal Running Team on CanadaHelps.org:

Once you have created your personal page (see Major Leslie’s as an example here), you can start raising money from your family and friends!

• Cadets who raise at least $50 will get a complimentary RMR baseball cap.

• Cadets who raise at least $100 will get a complimentary RMR baseball cap and a Squadron t-shirt.

• Cadets who raise at least $250 will get a complimentary RMR baseball cap, a Squadron t-shirt, and a Squadron hoodie.

The funds raised by our cadets and staff will support a variety of activities at the squadron as we resume in-person activities this fall. See the detailed description of the 1 West Montreal Running Team. Funds raised by individual cadets will be tracked and count toward the Flight Lieutenant Fred Solomon, BCL Memorial Fundraising Award that is presented at our Annual Ceremonial Review.

Even if you are not able to run with our team in September, feel free to help support the project by raising funds for the team page on CanadaHelps.org

For our runners: CI Amirola will be in touch with you soon to have you join our team on the Runkeeper mobile app so that we can keep track of our training stats and encourage each other virtually until we can start running as a group.

Our weekly training will recommence in September.
