Spring FTX 2022

We will hold our field training exercise (FTX) on May 14th. The FTX is one day only and is a part of the mandatory cadet training program. Dress is FTUs or weather-appropriate clothing. Please sign up below by Wednesday night.

Cadets must eat breakfast before arriving at the RMR. Lunch and dinner will be provided by the squadron. Do not bring any food items.

Schedule

• 07:00 Cadets meet at the RMR

• 07:30 Bus departs the RMR

• 19:30 Cadets return to the RMR (An arrival time update will be posted to our Facebook page)

Cadet Activity Program Applications

The Cadet Activities Program is a summer training program for Level 1 and 2 cadets.

Level 1 cadets participate in a week-long day camp at the RMR, in which they participate in activities such as drill, sports, Canadian Armed Forces familiarization, marksmanship, aviation, teambuilding, and survival.

Level 2 cadets do similar activities, but their CAP is two weeks long and includes a few overnights.

Both level 1 and level 2 CAPs will be held at the Royal Montreal Regiment, and like all cadet activities, it is free to participate. To signup for CAP, please fill out the form below. If you have any questions, please contact OCdt Caso at chloe.caso@cadets.gc.ca. The deadline to register for the CAP is May 12th.

Training Night

In-person training will continue at the RMR from 18:30-21:00 this Wednesday night. Dress is the green field training uniforms (FTUs) with a beret. Bringing your own water bottle is encouraged.

Cadets who cannot attend a given training night should email the Squadron at 1aviation@cadets.gc.ca ahead of time to be marked as excused.

Band Practice

Band practice will be held on Monday from 18:30 to 20:00 at the RMR. Dress is civies. Cadets interested in joining can contact 2Lt Encarnacion on MS Teams.

Preferred Name Update

National HQ is in the process of creating Cadet365 accounts for all cadets. If your legal name is different from your preferred name (the name you use in your day-to-day life), please let OCdt Caso know ASAP so that it can be used in your new cadet email address. This is especially important if you have multiple given names. Contact OCdt Caso at chloe.caso@cadets.gc.ca or on MS Teams.

Health Insurance Information Update

All cadets must verify that their health insurance information is current. Please email OCdt Caso at Chloe.Caso@cadets.gc.ca with the following information:

• Cadet name

• Health insurance provider

• Card number

• Expiration date
