Instructor Resources

Instructional Guides

The instructional Guides (IG) are the main documents you will use for planning your lesson. Each lesson is split up into teaching points, with detailed information about what to cover. They also include suggested activities which you might use as well as any material required.

Very important: The IGs do NOT replace a lesson plan

Qualification Standard & Plan

The Qualification Standards and Plan (QSP) contain brief outlines of each lesson, as well as details regarding evaluation and administration.

Lesson Plan Template

Every instructor must create a lesson plan as part of their preparation. This helps you learn the material and you can use the lesson plan to remind you of important points while teaching. Your lesson plan should be detailed enough that someone reading it will have a pretty good idea of how to teach the class, but it should not be a word-for-word script that you read from.

You can use another template if you prefer (or make your own), as long as it is organized and readable.
